Adult Biz Week: Financial Discrimination

On Monday, the Eros Association, Australia’s adults-only industry association, launched the first ‘Adult Biz Week’ highlighting some of the major issues impacting the Australian Adult Industry.

As part of ‘Adult Biz Week’, the Eros Association has launched a video posted on Eros’ social media that highlights the discrimination faced by adult businesses from banks and other financial institutions.

“We are talking about legal, tax paying business” notes Rachel Payne, General Manager of Eros.

The video notes public statements by Kate Carnell, The Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, against banks being “moral arbiters” of legal businesses. It also notes Eros’ 2017 Financial Discrimination report which highlighted significant cases of discrimination.

“All our members want is to be treated fairly and not to be subject to broad brush stereotypes about the adult industry” notes Eros’ Policy and Campaigns Advisor, Jarryd Bartle.
